Pretty sure Chopper is a tanooki/racoon dog, that's the running joke in the series. I'd think a red panda wouldn't be such a dark brown.
Emerje [edit]Nevermind, just checked and it really was listed as a "lesser panda". That's kinda dumb, they really missed the mark there.
