where in the manga does the anime leave off from? i can't seem to find it. so please help me

The anime finishes at Volume 09, Chapter 72 of the manga which is not even half of it  . The Suzuka manga currently has 163 chapters and there are 3 more chapters left until it finally finishes.

yeah I just started reading it and I'm on 140 and it gets really good.

Yeah, I guess thats my only beef with the anime. While it's spot on with the manga for the most part, it only covers the first 72 chaps as someone mentioned above, and right around where your at (mid 140's) is where it all starts to really heat up and pan out.
