Are DVDs sales in decline in Japan, or is Blu-Ray on part with them?

Only otaku anime DVDs are slowing down. BDs really aren't reaching the same penetration as DVDs for everybody else.

Most disc sales for otaku-shows are BD now. Some shows didn't even get DVD releases, though most still do. Vast majority of sales come from BD sales though. If a show sells a large portion on DVD, that tends to mean it has a lot of women or otherwise non-otaku buying it.
