Manga Hajimete Monogatari (TV)

Genres: ?
Themes: ?

Plot Summary: ?
----------------------------------

(I diligently browsed through all of the one page of forum search results on Manga Hajimete Monogatari and found no proper general thread about it, so lets make it here.)

Is this the most obscure giant anime (~600 episodes) of all time that (almost) literally no one seen?

Maybe it is a lost gem from late 1970s that spanned for more than decade, but we simply do not know about it?

Are there anime fans who are old enough to watch this in 1970s to explain us why this show was such a giant phenomenon, but then was completely wiped out from memory of the mankind?

I don't know about it, but I figure you should consider it like you do Folk Tales from Japan which ran for about TWENTY years as Manga Nihon Mukashi Banashi before it's recent revival.
It looked to be a kids show that taught history lessons or something.
I wouldn't be surprised if it's not forgotten at all in Japan and might even be rerun on children's programming.

Manga Hajimete Monogatari was an educational TV programme for children which dealt with origins of various things such as railways and telephone. The TV programme consisted of live-action parts and anime parts.
TBS and some UHF stations reran it. TBS Channel (the communications satellite broadcasting division of TBS) now reruns it.

Thanks for replies. So, it seems, this thing had only circumstantial use for its day.

As for Folk Tales from Japan, it was not mystery to me since the drawings are for little children, unlike the title show.
