So, wait, was this going to be the seventh transformers movie, or the eighth, counting Bumblebee? Resident Evil is my dubious Hollywood adaptation series of choice, so I haven't really kept up with this franchise...

I'm sure they just realized that no one actually cares about this franchise anymore.

No more of these crappy movies. Time for a reboot. Get Bay off the project and also remove the 3 stooges, John Roger, Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman. They are such sh*tty writers.

Next Transformers movies:
- Rated R for violence
- Simplified robot designs
- Shorter running time (90-100 minutes not counting end credits)
- Stan Bush and Vince DiCola
- Mix in more elements from series outside of G1. Who wouldn't wanna see Sky-Byte?
- Gary Chalk in a human role. Maybe as Sparkplug.
- Scott McNeil's Jetfire

Your paragraph has already happened. Outside of Bay getting a producer's credit, none of those people are involved with Bumblebee, nor are they expected to be involved with the reboot efforts.

Your list, on the other hand ... Transformers has always been a children's property first and foremost. As long as Hasbro wants to sell mainstream toys, you're not going to see an R-rated Transformers movie, nor do you even need that to tell a decent story in this franchise.

What would R-rated violence in a movie about robots even look like? Unless we plan to make it even less about the Transformers.

It is the 7th and was to be the sequel to The Last Knight. Bumblebee is the 6th Transformers film with the vastly reduced budget.

Murder Prime tearing off faces wasn't enough.

I'm glad there wouldn't be any more Micheal Bay Transformers movies. I do hope we would get a CGI Transformer film one day in the style of the wonderful Transformers: Devastation video game. Very Happy

Those films became a walking punchline around #3, the problem is that the audience is no longer there laughing with them.

Good. This franchise really needs to die. These films have just been getting worse with every sequel.

You do realize that not only Transformers is a children's toy franchise which means that it will NEVER get an R-rated movie, but also movies need not be dark and gritty to be good, right? With the exception of Deadpool and Logan, give me one more example of a superhero or toy franchise which got an R-rated movie and succeeded.
