OMG, this was my childhood! Coincidentally, I was just looking into Zoids just recently after forgetting about it for several years.

Gritty realism zoid... That's going to be weird.

This just screams Hollywood live action Zoids movie to me and quite frankly I'm kind of hoping that it is a live action movie.

That Zoid in the picture looks very convincing. If Hollywood were to do a live-action adaptation of this franchise, it might be an exciting watch. They wouldn't even have to choose one of the MCs from the series since there were different stories. They can just make up a new character.
Since Hollywood likes adapting popular anime, a mecha or cyberpunk anime is the way to go. As all as it doesn't turn out like Dragonball Evolution.
Well, whatever happens, see you on the battlefield!

CERO C-Z Zoids? Sounds good to me. Hopefully it's a third person shooter like EDF or Armored Core with some decent customization.

Oh my gosh! This is great news. I just started nostalgia-ing about Zoids very recently again too. The guy in the picture lowers my expectations of another anime adaption though. Either way it looks more Chaotic Century era than anything so that's a good sign.

And not the first time they've tried it, interestingly - Zoids Assault, an Xbox 360 turn strategy game from years ago, was along those lines. Seems like people didn't really get it at the time, unfortunately, but it was quite good and revived my interest in Zoids.
Of course it was still sort of funny listening to people very gravely talk about things with names like "Death Saurer Cannon".

My bet is on this being both a reboot and a rebranding. Zoids hasn't been seen in a long time and so it gives them an opportunity to start fresh with the series. The image given tells me this is going to be a grittier Zoids, likely aimed at an older audience. Zoids won't be a series aimed at kids anymore. The question will be whether or not this is a CG film/series, a live action film/series, or a video game. Probably a CG series or film.

In the west maybe. Japan's presence is still around, including things like the anime re-releases or the HMM line of kits that's still ongoing. It only hasn't been seen in a long time in terms of Western presence because of the utter mishandling of the stretch from Chaotic Century to Fuzors.
