Much as I enjoy the manga for UB, damn does Yen's numbering system on the manga just infuriate me. It starts with "zero", and they're all omnibuses (which is always nice, as are the larger size and color pages), but the "eighth" volume is actually the ninth omnibus (and contains vols 16 and 17, I think, since even in Japan, it starts with a vol 0). I think once omnibus "9" comes out, we'll be caught up to Japan.
But seriously, please, no one else ever number a manga like this again for US release ever ever ever ever again. Start with a "1", and if there ends up being some prequel later, then it's ok to tack on either a "0" or a subtitle onto it.

@classicalzawa
UB's release schedule as shown in ANN's Encyclopedia is a bit odd. Since it started it has been coming out at roughly six month intervals (except for 2010 and 2011 when nothing came out). However, beginning in 2015 there has been only one volume a year issued, the latest in May 2016. Since Yen is doing omnibus volumes, volume 9 appears to be dependent on volume 19 being issued in Japan, possibly later this month.
For the record, Dogs from Viz came out with a 0 volume, though they didn't confuse things by making it an omnibus with the real volume 1. Also Paradise Residence had a 0 volume but Dark Horse added it to the back of volume 1.
