Technically this is canon cos we got snippets of Erina's new dorm life aside from the constant taste testings though those scenes could mostly be seen as omakes from the manga rather than full chapters. OVA will most likely expand on that and add some extra stuff

I hope Sentai licenses all these OAD's for Food Wars because they seem important to the story.

I cannot agree more.
Especially the fourth ova that introduces the Elite 10 members.
I wish Crunchyroll would stream them as well.
