I have to admit, I'm a little disappointed it's a 3D fighter. In my experience with them, there's a lot of time spent chasing the other player, lining up to actually be able to hit them, etc. To me, that slows things down a lot. And with the game being based on Kill la Kill, which is really energetic, I think the 3D format makes it more difficult to capture that and bring it into the pacing of the gameplay (I'll grant that the dashing helps some). I was hoping the format would be more like Guilty Gear or Dragonball Fighterz, which I think would mesh really well with Kill la Kill's energy.
I'll still give this game a shot if it comes stateside because it's Kill la Kill. There's always a chance it won't feel like it's dragging as much when I'm actually playing it as opposed to watching other people play it. But I'm less excited for it now than I was before.
