I found about Bakugo being #1 again in the character popularity straight from a source: a tweet from Clifford Chapin (his Eng. dub voice).

While I’m happy to see Hawks make it to #4 (despite debuting in the manga just one arc ago. Talk about Ensemble Darkhorse) and Momo finally getting the recognition she’s deserved for a while...My best girl Ochako lost her Top 10 spot >:V How DARE.
And if anime-only fans are wondering how Endeavor somehow made it in, let’s just say he’s received a lot of significant and memorable moments in the manga this year. Deku's popularity didn't falter, it even increased by more then double his previous poll. Bakugo and Todoroki are just so popular that there number of votes exploded.
Also the internet's breakdown because of Endeavor is such a west fandom thing lol. |

Very confused as to why Best Jeanist made the top ten, as I can't remember him doing anything lately... Also, Endeavor sucks.

Some have theorized it was all due to the timing of the anime. The poll may have come around when Best Jeanist had his big moments in Season 3’s most epic arc, so it gave a boost to his numbers. |

Still no Mirio. I'm wondering if Japanese fans just don't like him that much.
I was expecting Hawks to make it to the top 10, but I definitely wasn't expecting him to get fourth place. He deserves it though. Guy left a very strong first impression in the previous arc. |

I feel like the popularity polls should be taken very lightly. Or even ignored.
Plus I kinda look at the popularity of bakugou with growing horror. |

it's been so long since I read wherever the anime is up to now that like I don't remember a bunch of characters (like best jeanist) doing anything lol
and hawks is like..............he's only been in like 3 chapters and all he's done really is spoiler[be a double?triple? crosser?] anyway for me monoma is #1 |

Oh c’mon don’t treat Bakugo’s popularity as a sign of the apocalypse or that a lot of people like bully’s. Guy’s had a lot a development & has slowly become a better person. It’s easy to see why he ranked high.
Though there’s also the possibility that some folks turned in more than 1 vote for him. And about Endeavor, don’t be hating him anymore, he’s done some absolute dope shit in the recent arcs in the manga. Amazingly he’s become one of the most compelling characters in the entire series. |

Just as an FYI: a single person could vote multiple times in this poll. I don't think it would have changed much for the top ranked characters if it was limited to 1 vote/person tho. I also heard that altho there seems to be a lot of hate in the West for Mineta, he's actually quite popular in Japan
