Wait, 40 episodes? Kind of an odd number, but it makes sense considering the material that's left in the manga. I was initially worried they were gonna royally ruin the final season by cramming the rest of the manga into 24 episodes. Just wish they would've done this for the previous seasons.

Indeed, that's odd.
12-13 and 24-26 episodes make sense because it fills the TV schedule for 3 or 6 months.
And although VOD websites like netflix don't need to be restricted by such limitations, I suppose the anime will still be broadcasted on TV in japan, isn't it ?
Anyway, I'm glad the adapted the number of episode to the content, and not the other way around.

Could be that they'll air it as three 13-episode coeurs, with a double-length finale.
