I figured it would be cancelled, but I honestly don't know why it took them so long to make an official announcement though.
Oh well, there's always next year. This'll make the next NYCC even more memorable |

Virtual SDCC was a complete flop where no one announced anything (besides more Dragon Prince I guess) and the panels barely passed 50,000 views. How will this be any different?

Well, this does not bode well for Anime NYC a month later in the Javits... I feel it's only a matter of time until they cancel, too...surprised they didn't yet, but probably waiting for someone (like the NY gov't) to force them to cancel so they don't have to eat the contracts, a la Otakon and every other con that has been canceled this year (the list at animecons.com is so depressing...)
