Hello from Tokyo!
I just watched Gundam Hathaway at Toho Cinema Ikebukuro today. It has been a long time since I watched any show from the Gundam franchise...having watched and been a fan of Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory, F91, IGLOO, IGLOO 2, and The Origin. The strong dramatic character performances in this film was pleasantly surprising and kept me interested throughout the whole film. It feels very grounded to reality, believable, and not ridiculously over the top. I think the film was well executed from beginning to end. My only disappointment was the number of unanswered questions or unexplained mysteries still remaining, which gets my hopes up for a second movie. I think the film lends itself well to a live-action movie adaption.
