I wonder what this will sound like.
And I'm still surprised this is 2 cours long. Manga sales aren't doing too well so I wonder what prompted the decision.

Pre-planned decision. Take a gamble on two quarters (with permission from the creator) in hopes that the longer adaptation does enough to drum up interest in the source material and pay for the production costs through sufficient home video sales.
This is not the only adaptation that has taken this decision recently. One-quarter adaptations are always another option, but some creators/production committees don't like doing something rushed or half-baked and end up losing money anyway despite the short project run.
