I have one of those! It's the Mars Attacks one, published under their Smile brand. I believe I reread it a few years ago and the writing wasn't too bad?
There were so many novelisations made in that era; I had ones for pokemon, digimon, sailor moon, sonic and cardcaptors. It was a way to get kids reading so I appreciated it even if the writing was often uninspired.
I also had a volume of sailor moon manga under the MixxZine label, but the binding is pretty awful. I do appreciate the abnormal size of the volume though, it's kinda cute how small it is.
boy, what a blast from the past!

Congratulations to Lianne! She's a true industry veteran who has worked in manga for her entire adult life with a genuine love of the medium, so I'm sure she'll do a great job. I hope she helps correct the poor work conditions at Seven Seas.

Badly written “novelizations” of certain episodes that mixed the dub, the original, and copious product placement.
