Competing with Miyazaki was always going to be a tough challenge. Plus the fact that it is Part 1 of 2-Part movie doesn't help.
Don't get me wrong, it was my favorite film of the past year (didn't see Heron and haven't watched Suzume yet), but I wouldn't be surprised if it only got technical awards.
