Huh, I remember this game. I had contemplated playing it, but never got around to it. Plus I hear there's two English dubs and a lot of debate over which one is better.

Definitely picking this up as I never got the opportunity to sit down and play this.

It was originally announced as a remaster, then the title was dropped for some reason and now it's just called Riviera: The Promised Land. Also, the "new" content is the exclusive stuff from the Wonderswan and GBA versions, which is pretty awesome (I first played the game on the Wonderswan). This release is based on the PSP version based on their "mini updates"

Oh wow it's been a hot minute! I remember playing this on the GBA back in my early middle school days. In truth I only pressured my parents to buy the game because Nintendo Power kept advertising it and some random cheat magazine featured a walkthrough to all the secret areas and character bond interactions. Kind of an interesting RPG even by ATLUS standards. Instead of through grinding, the characters "level up" by mastering weapons and items you pick up from defeated enemies and chests, and they even had a "Practice Battle" feature that allowed you use said items until you master them without fear of using up durability (All items and weapons have that btw). Even the exploration itself is turn-based with a score that factors in how few turns you use as well as the stuff you pick up through inspections by the end of each chapter. The game was also my unintentional intro into "harem" series with an all-female cast you can "romance" and get a unique ending depending on who you bond with the most. Also, the one-off bathing scenes at the spring...my young mind at the time was not ready for all that skin. Good times! Can't wait to see what they do with the remake!
