I have seen a lot of anime and a lot of martial arts anime and to be honest, there's not a whole lot of it. Kengan is good at what is does and there's only really Baki to compete with it and I enjoy both immensely. If you just looking at pure fighting, combat and marital arts anime, there is not a lot besides the obvious like Baki and Kengan off the top of my head there is: Garouden Mou Ippon! Abarenbou Rikishi!! Matsutarou Hajime no Ippo Ashita no Joe Hinomaru-Zumou Megalo Box Bamboo Blade Shuumatsu no Valkyrie Can't forget Tekken, Street Fighter, Dark Stalkers Fatal Fury & Virtua Fighter series and all those video game adaptations of Fighting games. Of course, there's 100's of battle shonen & chambara anime which have martial arts in them. BLEACH could be considered a "martial arts anime", but I wouldn't really count that as pure combat or martial arts. So, there is really not a whole lot to choose from and a majority of them are good in my opinion. |
