I like that they are adding something of their own to it. I'm not sure that Alvarez on its own would have been enough to justify a sequel, and I don't know if 100 Year Quest is far enough along to include.
When it comes to anime/manga games, I like it when developers are able to take advantage of a story that has some natural gaps in it where they can insert their own stories in a way that could have happened. For the most part, you're selling it to people who already know what happened, so it's an added bonus.
