I work in a transplant unit at a hospital in Houston and yes, in certain cases it can happen. Criteria for transplants are very strict.

Yeah. Everyone who wanted to donate a kidney was rejected for being overweight, and none of us could lose weight fast enough -or at least, I couldn't-, so Jan just got sicker and sicker, until her doctors said she wouldn't make it through a surgery.

I honestly hate how people with need are predated by other people. My condolences for the theft on her house and I hope the campaign is more than sucessfull
