The 2026 release would mean 12 years after the 2014 release of the first movie. Funny coincidence: Madoka Walpurgis no Kaiten’s (also by Urobuchi) planned 2025 release date is also 12 years after it’s predecessor (Rebellion) in 2013.

Its not that far considering it has already been 14 years.
IP Original anime movies typically almost never get sequels so i am surprised this one did, not that im complaining as it is a great movie.
