I dunno... The clown pirate with separatable body parts and the stretchy guy is one thing, but this CGI dear-bear could be a big test of how well this could go down with mainstream viewers. Here's hoping!

Borrowed heavily from Paddington, its like looking at a teddy bear. My only suggestion would be to make the nose more black than blue, yes its blue in the manga but its a bit unnatural in real life.

Not bad at all. Now, the fact that there looks to be at least a 2.5-year gap in between seasons... oof.

Generally pretty good results given that they went for a Paddington-ish CGI look. I imagine there were a lot of different prototypes they went through before settling on this version.
Also, 2026...

Pretty cute. The wait is getting unbearable, though. 2026? Sigh.

Not so bad as I feared it might be, but he looks a tad...taxidermied? Also his moments of absolute cuteness keep getting sabotaged by his teeth, which suffer the same uncanny problem the original Sonic design did. I realize his teeth are often individualized in the manga and anime, but I just don't think that works in more realistic-aiming CGI. If you don't agree, I can't explain any better what's bugging me about it, and obviously ymmv. I guess I just think in general that marking out each tooth makes any character more ugly (and in anime language, usually more evil).

Yeah this release schedule isn't going to work, I can't see the show going for many more seasons with how quickly members of the cast are going to age out of their characters (unless they do a rewrite where the Straw Hats just got lost on the Grand Line for 5 years lol)

Most likely the roles will just be recast as time goes on.

Chopper looks good, but the 2026 date reminds me why so many streaming shows lose steam so fast.

Setting aside the release schedule problems, they've at least got the voice and adorableness down for Chopper. Though I'm morbidly curious how his transformations are going to look.

I feel like people forgot about the strike that happened just when season 1 premiered. Season 2 was always gonna be delayed.

They definitely borrowed from Paddington, but if you’re gonna borrow, borrow from the best I suppose.

Like the original Sonic look, it's the teeth that kill the look for me. Granted the look could be a lot worse. I also think his eyes should be bigger. Overall I'll give them a B because despite those issues he's still cute and the Paddington vibes are there. Just wished we could get
Brina Palencia as the English VO. That is if she wanted to do it of course but One Piece anime schedule would pose an issue.

Live-action One Piece has been surprisingly good, but wow, 2026? This means it will have taken them three years to get to the start of Alabasta. Which is...basically the exact same speed as the original manga. I hope the live action crew's contracts are good for a LONG time.
In other news, Paddington is a reindeer now.
