Oh, I don't know... it used to be quite the thing. Robot Carnival, Memories, Neo Tokyo...

Those all feature short films from different directors, making them being anthologies make sense. This is just one director seemingly not having a strong enough idea to make into a whole movie

Well, the character designs look pretty cool, if nothing else. Seems like it'll be a crazy anthology movie.
