First they cast a brunette to play a blonde character in the new Masters of the Universe movie, and now this. Is this a trend I don't know about?

Link originally had brown hair. Every incarnation of the characters are different people and in Link's case, a potentially different bloodline, so having a different hair color is expected. Even Zelda was a brunette in Twilight Princess.

Well, I guess they look the parts, well enough. I still can't imagine Zelda making for a decent movie, but I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Fluw: Yeah, but why not cast blonde actors, instead?

Best Link was pink hair Link.

They'll have wigs. Did people have this issue with they cast Bloom as Legolas? Natural blonde hair doesn't matter when you'd have to put extensions in anyway. The guy isn't going to magically grow long blonde locks during filming.

Bragason looks like a decent Zelda. Still not entirely sold on Ainsworth as Link. I can only imagine who they'd cast for Ganon.

Because actors are usually cast for their acting and not for their hair color. One is also much easier to adjust than the other.

All I wanted was two actors I've never heard of, so here's one worry crossed off the list. Now just have wait and see how they'll handle Link taking.

What is even the point of doing this if Link doesn't look like a girl

Casting unknowns is a good thing.
Very young ages are good too.
Some people are expecting Nintendo to make Zelda the next Lord of the Rings, but Nintendo are more likely aiming to make Zelda the next Never-ending Story.
