Not really up on VTuber's other than when VA's do them, but I respect them for standing up on this.

I don't think I've seen a relatively major English VTuber company implode this badly in such a short amount of time. Yeesh.

This is incredibly disturbing and while I have never really watched any Vtubers before, I still feel for Ironmouse right now considering she was under the impression that her money earned from doing these subathons was going to a good cause. It’s especially disgusting that she thought that the money was going to go straight to a charity that helps benefit people with the same exact immune disorder that she has!
These Vtubing agencies have definitely shown their true colors in recent times. I can’t say for sure if this industry is as bad as Japan’s idol industry, but it’s definitely up there in its own scummy way.

I'm almost certain we're going to be hearing about the company folding soon. No way they recover from this. How slimy. I hope they do go under and still have to pay all that money.

There probably not as bad as the idol industry, there a lot of vtuber aganecies out there that probably are pretty good, but we barely here about them because thats just how the news works. This can maybe even be said about the idol industry (i kinda doubt it, but there is a possibility)

I'm a Silvervale fan. Back when Silver was still with VShojo, it always felt like the agency was shorting her somehow, right up until she left the company (admittedly, amidst controversy).
I had hoped VShojo got their act in order. That they hosed over pretty much everyone turns my stomach.
I have little hope of the missing monies ever being recovered (that's how it is with these kinds of folks). But I hope the wronged people find justice.

I hope all of the talent and the charity (charities?) are paid their missing money. Shame that VShojo has bungled their one job so badly.

Ya don't know where the money is going or who is even responsible

Really, you probably would think twice before outright stealing 500k+ outta charity pocket when you are dealing with pretty much one of the biggest VTuber agency organizations outside of Japan - but the corporate greed really hit the bottom on this one.

Ironmouse got another $500k+ raised in mere hours, and that is amazing, but Vshojo must be held accountable for the missing $500k.
Then again, with all of their major talent leaving them overnight who knows if that money will see the light of day...

Just trying to clarify: the other talents leaving are also having issues that just aren't being discussed in this article?
NDA's can be so frustrating. I wish malpractice would nullify an NDA because it means the issue gets swept under the rug

VShoujo was the anti-Vtuber agency. They took digs at all the other Vtubing companies and boasted they were the ones with "talent freedom" and didn't manage their talents like other companies did. They are also extremely anti-idol. It never sat right with me and given the way they let their talent over the years run wild and getting into tons of drama and controversies just reinforced that. Reading this now just makes me feel even more vindicated for finding them off since day 1. Do not judge Vtubing by VShoujo because they have always been the outlier and the one built specifically on being unlike all the others. If anything it's an argument why you need strict rules and regulation.

Then again, with all of their major talent leaving them overnight who knows if that money will see the light of day... | It's not even just the major talents at this point - the entire whole roster just gone instantly in a night with no one standing to cover the agency, so they have zero possibility to recover the money other than their own existing funds while merch store being already closed and the entire fan base been completely pissed off because they obviously treating the management as a scammers who thrown under the bus their biggest talent and the people who donated to the charity in her name.
Plus the whole situation will totally 100% gonna attract the IRS bloodhounds over the VShojo management (and any US citizen pretty know you DON'T WANT to mess with the IRS) because keeping the money intended for charity reasons is certified fraud - so it's not gonna be even their choice to decide what to do next, it's getting pay or getting bankrupt.

According to rumour some people inside vshoujo doxxed the artists to people outside the company.

We're likely just getting top-level aggregation of accounts for now. Ideally there are conversations being had right "now" with reporters that will result in more stories later.
IANAL but it seems reasonable to me that if a talent can terminate their contract because of a breach by the other party, any other agreements can be considered terminated as well. The question is whether it's worth pursuing the full benefits of contract termination.
While it's easy to say Ironmouse is doing the right thing and it's good that her fellow co-workers are likely following her in solidarity, everyone is assuming a bit of a risk. I assume the departing talent want to keep the focus on the bad actors within their former company as best they can. Any bridge they burn on accident could deny them future employment, and that's presuming employers aren't viewing this negatively in the first place. And of course it's always a risk for a worker to willing leave a paid job. Regardless of what these performers are making, they are still two bad months away from homelessness, so it takes a lot of conviction and trust for them to walk out.
