As the first Uma Musume season to leave the audience hanging, owing to its ongoing manga origins, Cinderella Gray does a superb job thrilling the audience while leaving them hungry for further courses it could serve up.

The second cour is coming in October. That was announced at the end of the 13th episode.

Although if the current pace of the adaptation continues, there is enough manga content for 4 cours. Only the first 2 have been announced though.

Characters are noted as being categorized into the different types of approach they take to racing (not coincidentally similarly to the labels used in the concurrently released Uma Musume mobile game), and those methodologies are demonstrated. It provides some fascinating insight into the kinds of granular strategies that can be applied to racing beyond "running real fast" as some laypersons might presume.

The different styles of racing are not just something from the game, they are the actual racing styles of real racehorses

Compared to season 3 of the original series, this was so much better and had all the fun, silliness and drama that made the first 2 seasons so good. Hope thst the 2nd part of the series as as good.

This was one of my favorites of the last season and happy we’re getting a second cour.

I'll admit, I was one of those that laughed at the premise of racing horse girls, but Oguri's earnestness, plus Cygames' excellent production, won me over.

My favorite of the season. I can't wait until October for the second cour. Oguri peak!

Getting into Uma Musume was not on my bingo card a few months ago. But the game release and the subsequent bombardment of related videos online pique my interest enough to first start watching the anime(to avoid getting into gacha, unsuccessfully). At this point i have fully caught up to the anime and started reading the Cinderella Gray manga (and like 60 hours on the gacha....).

The franchise as an anime is genius in a sense. There are already stories in history they can draw as blueprint and the natural drama of competition is a powerful driver. Its cool to see Cygame then just go all out flexing the budget on animation and making all of these really top tier shows and still be based on a rather silly concept at first glance. And like this review said, it's interesting that racing being based on historic results can actually be more compelling and cut throat because there are no plot armor. And I've basically completely avoided watching any videos talking about the series and also reading wiki because those are all spoilers.

Fun ride so far and can't wait to see the future chapters being animated. Now i just need more time in the day to be able to race the horse girls and watch anime ...

Haha not necessarily true, real life can very often be its own plot armor. And it does have its unfortunate downsides as the review says, where certain characters have to simply stop existing because that’s what happened in real life. It’s all in how it’s presented that matters most honestly. Which is why the shows and the game succeed.
