I'm surprised Scarlet is opening that high given the negative reviews and online reactions. I wonder how hard it's going to fall on it's second weekend.

Japanese fans are hating the movie. I believe it’s sitting at a 2/5 on whatever their version of Letterboxd is called. Professional reviews are mixed. It had one of the highest screen counts of the year but it barely did better than the JJK movie which is out in fewer theaters and has been out a while. Hosada needs to leave the writing to someone else.
