Very cool that Anime Boston has Katsura Sunshine! For those who don’t know, he’s a white guy from Toronto who fell in love with Rakugo and then moved to Japan to become a Rakugo performer, completing the standard (and quite challenging!) traditional apprenticeship that is depicted in Akane-Banashi. He’s probably the best Rakugo performer who works in English (which is, admittedly, a pretty short list). I’ve seen him perform at the Japanese embassy here in Ottawa and was thoroughly charmed.

Since it was popular and many were hype of it, wonder if theres an announcement that it will get an english dub or a dub screening in the future ? When it comes to the whole Rakugo and its translation/localization, Katsura Sunshine could be the consultant in the dubbing production.

Katsura Sunshine will perform at the New York screening (not Boston).
