As much as I'm a massive fan of Char's Counterattack, I wasn't 100% sold that the first movie was justifying the existence of the story enough. It's interesting to hear "Hathaway is growing up and having a hard time", but for the subject matter it contains..... it maybe felt a bit too soft.
Will be interesting if watching the first part and then the second part right after sway my opinion. It's pushing the UC timeline ahead, so as a Gundam fan that's a novelty I'm not quick to write off -especially if it somehow leads into an F91/Crossbone story- but I don't want them to make a movie just for the sake of selling tickets. I want to see it mean something larger. |
