Many, many NSFW stuff is used in on Google Drive. So, I wonder how Google Drive flagged or detected Itosugi-san's works but not the same for another manga-ka. I doubt that the Drive picks and chooses what to flag.

Its kinda random, it happens with almost every platform, some things get banned and some somehow dont. Steam for example, has games that have been pulled out of the platform, but at the same time those same type of games are on the steam platform. So idk

Wherever you live take that as a cautionary tale to keep important stuff on physical storage.

Call me paranoid but I've never trusted any cloud service let alone Google of all people. No reason to think they can't just snoop and browse your files whenever they want so if you're hoping for privacy it seems very gullible but if it's stuff you don't care about or for a general usage I guess it's fine. But for Japanese artist and cases it seems like a no brainer to not use it when any auto-detection moderation system could potentially flag your artwork as child pornography and get you in trouble. At the very least use a Japanese service that isn't using "western sensibilities" like the one user said.

Remember folks, regardless of any Western, or Eastern, standard.

There's no such thing as clouds. Only other people's computers.

I don't usually use cloud services, I prefer to keep things on my devices(though MS doesn't make it easy, had hell of a headache trying to keep onedrive from polluting my desktop setting up win11..), but occasionally I do like when I'm traveling and want to temporarily store files I want to easily access elsewhere, except every time I do I often compress but always encrypt, never plain files. Cloud service providers may say the files aren't peeked at, but I don't trust them, plain and simple...

And this here is what we call good practice.

The moral of the story if one is being flippant is “buy external hard drives and back up your files frequently.” The other moral is once again “do not trust big tech with important documents given their own overreactions.”

Another commenter said Japanese parents should avoid uploading photos of their children taking baths, as Google is set to "Western standards."
That's kind of a weird thing to say in response to a "basically porn" artist getting banned.

If you have the money it's worth the money to setup a small NAS. That's how I was gonna roll before all this AI crap made even HDD drives (of all types) expensive.

At least encrypt and zip your files if you're gonna use a Cloud service. I prefer to just buy hard drives to store stuff on though.. it's mostly just old anime I store though
