how many versions of the manga are there? my friend wants the original that the show was based on and he can only find one that came after the show. so is Viz releasing the original or the new one?
this says Vintage: 2003-08.
is this the original and is it going to be released here?

I'm pretty sure that the manga Viz is releasing is the original, but with a new cover for the manga. Parts of the stories matched up with the anime, and considering the start of each episode was Rikdo giving permission for the anime to be some other genre each time I don't think the anime is directly based off the anime.
