Ok, so I haven't read berserk in about a year, but I have a question. I was on a berserk fansite, and it said something about "the idea of evil" . So that's my question, what exactly is it? The site said it was this sort of entity that was created from mankind's collective evil, theri desire to know what evil was, but other people have told me that it is what created the world of berserk, so which is it? thanks

Never heard of it. You'll have to clarify with them on what volume that was supposedly mentioned in. As far as the world of Berserk is concerned, it's just like any other middle age/crusade type setting out there. Only thing that made it more interesting was spoiler[the Eclipse, which basically brought the God Hand together and gave Griffith supreme powers. And it also made lots of demons roam the land.]

The Idea of Evil refers to content in the Lost Chapter, which was (I think) #83. It would have been just before Griffith changed into Femto during the Eclipse, in vol. 13, had it been published in tankobon format. But Miura decided that he had revealed too much, too early about the Berserk universe so he asked that it be omitted from the compilation. The Idea of Evil, or whatever it will end up being called in official translation, is in effect the god of the Berserk world. As for whether it made man or man made it, that's open to debate. We presumably catch a quick glimpse of it in vol. 13, but to date, it has yet to appear again in the story.
