Jerry Yan's kind of old, and "suave" isn't QUITE the first word that comes to mind when I think of him, but he could make a good Ren. He could look the part.

I haven't thought of Jerry Yan for years! Never liked his character in Meteor Garden (he was my least favorite) but I'm curious about this drama. I always preferred the Taiwanese versions of Hana Yori Dango and Hana Kimi over the Japanese ones.
