I got this anime today, and just finished watching it. I had never seen it before, and I rather enjoyed it, except for the end. I felt the end was bittersweet, which often seems to occur in anime. So, sometime in the future Makoto and Chiaki are going to meet up, I assume ? But it would seem to me that he was from pretty far in the future...so she will be 80 when they see each other again ? His future sounded pretty crappy too, with no baseball or rivers or a sky...I was hoping he would just stay there, seeing how his time seemed to be such a drag. Oh well, I had heard most Japanese people seem to prefer bittersweet endings. Still, it was a decent anime. As mentioned in the review a while back, some plot points were left out, the paintings significance and such. Anyone else just seen it for the first time ? What did you think of it ?
