It's basically trying to be Steam and BookWalker in one.
I'm personally curious to see how things will turn out, and hope it does well enough for other publishers to push their content there.

^^

I'd have to agree it does sound like a really good idea on paper. However apart from LN's and non h-manga, wasn't FAKKU! already becoming a central platform for publishers.

Well, competitors aren't bad. Keeps everyone involved on their toes, and hopefully means they're regularly improving their service.
The only real issue is whether or not Sol is over extending themselves. They seem to want to be "all the things", when it comes to anime media, so I'm legitimately expecting them to start licensing (and probably producing) full anime in a few years.

Most of the content of Fakku is nsfw. Those people looking for sfw won't be looking in the nsfw store for sfw content and vice versa.

Fakku created a sfw branch Denpa, LLC.

Well, regular LNs and manga are a much larger market, and in terms of VNs I think Nutaku actually has more content from various publishers than Fakku does.

This has the potential to be good for VNs though, since currently they're buried under all the other releases on Steam and/or relegated to sites that mostly sell porn. The western VN market suffers from a lack of marketing and consumer awareness, so being on a platform with manga and LNs could be good publicity for the medium, as long as this platform gets enough content to make it worth buying from, that is.

What manga does Sol Press actually have? I know that they have some light novels and visual novels, but I can't find what manga they publish.

They don't have any at the moment, but Xev (Sol's founder/CEO?) mentioned elsewhere they had a manga whose announcement they had to delay.

^ Thanks for answering. If they only have one manga title so far, then they'd be counting on other publishers to use their platform.
