funny thing that you mention bao and momoko in the same sentence , usually when that is done the sentence also contains the words "worst character"... and it looks like the tradition continues. anyway the theory back then was that bao dissapeared and momoko appeared because bao and momoko are the same person.

seriously both characaters fit a kof niche ( along with choii, chang and chin) of lame characters that are super infuriating to fight against, meaning that back then she was part of my team, momoko is so short that some block strings would hilariousl-y fail against her.

and yeah, i am thinking that we will get weekly kof news, as of now, shuneis reveal video is out

Disney's recent history with games is bizarre. They clearly WANT to have some kind of footprint in the industry, but they've been utterly incompetent when it comes to actually doing it. Part of it has to do with their pedantic obsession with "the brand" which was why MvCI was such a mess as they wouldn't allow CAPCOM to just make a fun game. Then EA had an exclusivity deal for the Star Wars license which has been a disaster save for Fallen Order (with rumors being that the company's president HATED having the license due to it being done by his predecessor). And of course we had the Avengers which was, weirdly, only on Crystal Dynamics from what is known so far. Altogether, Disney needs to get its act together.

Getting rid of the exclusivity deal with EA for Star Wars helps, but Ubisoft still refuses to properly address its sex pest problem and I can't think of a lamer company for a sandbox Star Wars title. Ubisoft don't make worlds or settings, they make maps with a bunch of tedious side objectives so they don't have to pace things or actually make a richly detailed worlds the player can lose themselves in. Though this does open the possibility of other companies getting a crack at things. Like maybe doing another Star Wars RPG with someone.

As for Indiana Jones, that's something with a lot of potential. The question is what it'll be, because I'm hoping for something with some proper puzzle solving.

I want to be hype for KOF XV so bad, and I am, but SNK is really going out of their way to kill any & all enthusiasm by "shattering expectations" through disappointment.

After all the delay drama, we didn't even get a minute's worth of footage, but we were all cool with it cause "Hey, KOF actually looks good!" and "more gameplay next week."

Of course, us silly FG people took that to mean a mechanics breakdown, but what they actually meant was an even shorter character trailer for Shun'ei with a significant portion of it being footage they just showed from the reveal. As for the trailer itself, it was a bunch of quick cuts that showed next to nothing other than the fact that "Yep, Shun'ei has buttons alright." Everyone is complaining and blowing up SNK's social media, but will they course correct? Who knows, but it is hard to comprehend why they are screwing themselves with the game's reveal every step of the way.

And, if the trailers are going to be this painfully short, at least package them in groups of 3 and make it Team Reveals.

As for who will be in? The list of who I want is way too long, but for various reasons Mr. KOF Boss Rugal is pretty much a shoe-in, & everyone wants CYS back.

Honestly, Masami Obari working on a KOF anime is arguably a bigger reveal than what we have seen of KOF so far. But hey, at least the theme is good.

As far as the Indiana Jones game, I expect Bethesda to do what Respawn did with Jedi: Fallen Order, and basically reverse engineer Uncharted. I can't say I have confidence in their ability to do that.

Lastly, you pretty much summed up the latest on Cyberpunk. That isn't so much a roadmap as it is "how we intended to finish the game."

Best Case Scenario: Puzzle-platformer like old school Tomb Raider

Most Likely Scenario: Uncharted/modern Tomb Raider clone if we're lucky. A generic shooter ala if we're unlucky.

Pipe-Dream Scenario: Adventure game ala Fate of Atlantis

Much like the Harry Potter game, I won't care until I see some gameplay footage. Licensed games are more misses than hits.

I know Ubisoft has a bad rep. But I love Fenyx. If they could make a game like that with the Star Wars IP, I would be there 131.3%

Honestly having a hard time getting hype for SNK news after the whole MBS acquisition thing (not that the last time they got a huge chunk of shares bought out was exactly thrilling either). I really like KoF14, but I'm feeling pretty conflicted going forward.

The way I'll be having to look at this situation is that, in the end, the games are still being developed by the same studio of Japanese developers as they were prior to the purchase, and they are still trying to their hardest to deliver the best products they can for people who are fans of their work. It obviously isn't an ideal way to see things, but I don't want to feel like I'm ignoring the actual people who are still doing the grunt work behind these games, because they have no control over who the company gets sold to, and you can tell that they are trying their hardest to make sure KOF XV, the SamSho 7 DLC, & even the Masami Obari-directed anime special are what fans want to see & enjoy.

Strangely enough, Immortals Fenyx Rising is exactly that. Stupid good game. No idea how it came from Ubi tbh

I thought KOF XV's trailer was alright, I’ve been replaying some of the older KOF titles and I just wish that SNK would make something akin to KOF ’97 or 99, I think the problem with XIV is that the game was too simplified and the graphics weren’t as good as other fighting games. To be fair, SNK doesn’t have as much experience as other companies in 3D graphics, but I don’t think XV’s graphics look bad, the problem that I have is with the character designs, some characters like Kyo look much better now but characters like Shunei are very overdesigned, most of the new characters in XIV weren’t very interesting visually, I think SNK should stick to simpler designs (like Terry should have his classic look like he does in Smash Bros.), and perhaps they should bring some obscure characters from other games like Fatal Fury and Art of Fighting (I still don’t know why they didn’t include Bob Wilson for the Brazil team in XIV).

That certainly makes me wonder then why has the game gone up for sale at least twice for 40 dollars for last gen versions. Makes me think the game didn't rake in enough money.

I wouldn't really call Fallen Order a "proper" Star Wars Game. But then again what determines what is and what isn't a proper Star Wars game.

You did that on purpose didn't you?

From the looks of it, however, Lucasfilm Games might be done with EA's exclusivity shit. It's been announced that there's a new open-world Star Wars game in the works. The good news: EA's not making it!

They made Old Republic, Battlefront, & Fallen Order?

I thought that was Bioware, Dice, & Respawn.

The bad news: Ubisoft is making it, which makes this kind of a lateral move in terms of “level of publisher shittiness,” exacerbated by the fact that a lot of folks are just tired of the usual Ubisoft open-world game formulas.

They don't seem to be tired of the open world formula of Rockstar's games specifically GTA 5 which is about to get ports on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S......despite being released 7 years ago on the PS3 and Xbox 360.

Except it's not, because it still has the usual Ubisoft BS of tedious side objectives that are just check lists, lackluster puzzles, and the world being a commute instead of an actual setting while adding combat that's flashy, but also shallow and boring. They clearly saw Breath of the Wild and thought they could copy it, but they don't understand how to get that same atmosphere and grandeur that Hyrule has. They don't understand that sandboxes are meant to be EXPLORED, to be something the player loses themselves in and can spend time just checking things out. They need to go back to basics

Whoa there cowboy, Breath Of The Wild was a nice game but let's dial it back a bit. Very little of BOTW was unique and original and took or copied aspects from games like Elder Scrolls while weirdly disregarding others like repairing weapons or having different outcomes to various quests.

By that same token Nintendo when making Breath Of The Wild didn't know that if you're going to let players explore a sandbox there should be less obstacles to keep players from doing so such as needing to wear certain gear depending on the weather or needing Stamina to Swim or Climb while making the areas you can explore less shallow and repetitive.
