It's a 'Go Nagai' flick what can one expect.

I remember seeing this feature years ago and I was like,

"You're kidding right?"

I thought it was utterly genius in a twisted and bold sort of way. But only 'Go Nagai' pulls off stuff like this. The man has no shame. Hahaha!! Laughing Laughing Razz

It's interesting enough. Not the best and certainly not the worst. Actually, the manga is much better as you get all kinds of crazy stories. That are just downright over the top. You can only shake your head. Or laugh if you're into that kind of thing. To see an old series get animated as an OVA is probably the only plus, this feature has. As no one had ever heard of it until now.

I had to agree with some aspects in the animation quality. Considering that 'Kekko Kamen' was supposed to be naked, why does it look like she's wearing a "skin" suit? Funny this is that today's animation gets more treament on such details. Confused But the rest is pretty good. Until you get to the last 2 episodes and then it feels like, it's another segment we better hurry up because the budget is running out.

Other than that if you're a 'Go Nagai' fan and collect everthing under the sun whether it's adult or not, then this is worth having. As it's probably the only taste you'll ever have of this character.

Now my question is what's next? If it's still an option of his older works getting revived, could 'Kekko Kamen' receive another shot? If that happen I know the very guys who could pull it off with their whacky "otaku" humor. The same guys that revived 'Cutey Honey' for a new age while retaining it's retro feel - 'Gainax'.

I could very well see a new 'Kekko Kamen', and who knows it could very happen. Wink

I just watched Kekko Kamen the other day, it is without a doubt the most absurd ecchi ever made. But the humor is good measured and tacky. Where else can you see S&M murdered so impressively? the anime does try to take itself seriuosly but you'll probably laugh at how silly the concept and diolouge is rather then have any compassion on how dimmwitted and naive Mayumi is. plus the bad guys which consits of a bunch Nazi-propoganda perverts are so witty, goofy, and phony you'll actually giggle on how dumb they are! My favorite being the spoiler[masocist Miss Gestapoko who just loves it when Kekko slaps her with a flat wooden nuchucku stick]

Could there be an up-to date version of Kekko Kamen? knowing Go Nagai and how recent the live-action versions are it's highly likely.
