HIDIVE Adds Made in Abyss Anime in U.S., Canada
posted on by Jennifer Sherman
HIDIVE announced on Tuesday that it will stream the Made in Abyss anime on the service in the United States and Canada starting on July 24, with new episodes released every Tuesday.
HIDIVE describes the anime:
Within the depths of the mysterious Abyss, an orphan named Riko stumbles upon a robot who looks like a little boy. Riko and her new friend descend into uncharted territory to unlock the secrets of the Abyss, but what lies in wait for them in the darkness?
The 13-episode anime series premiered in Japan last July. Sentai Filmworks licensed the series. The show streamed in the United States on Amazon's Anime Strike service, and HIDIVE streamed the series outside of the United States. Amazon shut down Anime Strike in January, but the series is still available streaming on Amazon Prime. Sentai Filmworks announced in March that it will release an English dub for the anime.
Two compilation films are slated for release this coming winter, and production of a sequel is underway.
