Gunjō no Magmell Manga Approaches Climax

posted on by Alex Mateo

Chinese manga creator Dainenbyō revealed on Saturday in an interview featured in this year's February issue of Kadokawa's Da Vinci magazine that his Gunjō no Magmell (Magmell of the Sea Blue) manga is approaching its climax. The interview revealed that Dainenbyō had decided the story's development and conclusion before Dainenbyō started drawing the manga.

The television anime adaptation of Gunjō no Magmell will premiere in April 2019.

The fantasy series takes place in a world where a new continent named Magmell suddenly appears in the ocean, and a new age of exploration begins. Explorers venture to the island to find previously unknown lifeforms and resources, but experience one disaster after another. The manga follows the mysterious young men who make a living as relief workers who aid the explorers.

Dainenbyō launched the manga on Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ app in June 2015, and Shueisha published the 77th chapter on December 25. Shueisha published the manga's fourth volume in print in July 2017. The manga has also been serializing in China for about three years, and a color version of the manga launched digitally in Chinese in January 2018.
