SIE's Jim Ryan Indicates Sony Is No Longer in Handheld Business

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda

Sony Interactive Entertainment president Jim Ryan stated to game news website Game Informer in an article published on Tuesday that the "PlayStation Vita was brilliant in many ways, and the actual gaming experience was great, but clearly it's a business that we're no longer in now."

Sony ended production of PS Vita GameCards and ended support for the portable gaming platform in North America and Europe this past March.

The PS Vita handheld system launched in Japan on December 17, 2011. The system launched in Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, North and Latin America, Europe and PAL territories, and Singapore by February 22, 2012.
