Kotono Mitsuishi is the only voice actress to reprise her original role as Usagi Tsukino/Sailor Moon.
The first Sailor Moon anime to not have Aya Hisakawa, Emi Shinohara, Keiko Han, Michie Tomizawa, Rica Fukami, & Tohru Furuya as the voices of Sailor Mercury, Sailor Jupiter, Luna, Sailor Mars, Sailor Venus, & Tuxedo Kamen respectively.
It was originally meant to be released in 2013 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the original TV show's debut. However it was released in 2014 instead.
During production, the staff had about 100 possible titles for the anime, out of the choices original creator Naoko Takeuchi liked Crystal the most.
Rina Satou was a big fan of the Sailor Moon franchise prior to being casted in this series and always wanted to be the voice of Sailor Mars.
At 13 episodes, this series broke Sailor Moon Sailor Stars record of being the shortest Sailor Moon anime ever made.
