In episode 1, Grass Wonder and El Condor Pasa are taking the special make-up exam as a reference to the real Grass Wonder (1995-2025) and El Condor Pasa (1995-2002) being American-bred racehorses. Special Week is portrayed as having been homeschooled, as the real racehorse (1995-2018) was raised by stable staff and a draft horse after his dam (mother) Campaign Girl passed away after foaling him.

In episode 6, Daihonmei restaurant is a parody of the popular beef bowl restaurant chain Yoshinoya.

In episode 12, Tamamo Cross, Super Creek, and Hishi Amazon are wearing costumes based on their concept art, which can be found on their support cards in the Uma Musume: Pretty Derby game.
