Market research firm NPD says that franchise is #1 in boys action toys

The toy manufacturer Spin Master announced on October 26 that it has sold its 250 millionth Bakugan Battle Brawlers ball. Spin Master also said that the NPD marketing research firm lists Bakugan as the #1 toy property in the Boys Action category from January to August of this year.

The Bakugan franchise is based on Spin Master and Sega Toys' combination of metal cards and marble-like magnetic toys that automatically transform into figures during gameplay. America's Cartoon Network began showing the first Bakugan anime series in February of 2008. The Hollywood Reporter newspaper revealed later that year that Universal Pictures and Stuber Productions signed a deal with Spin Master for a proposed theatrical film version. A second Bakugan: New Vestroia season of 26 episodes premiered in North America in spring of 2009. The third television season, Bakugan Gundalian Invaders, premiered this year.
