One Piece's Nami

In the above photo, an unidentified cosplayer portrays Nami, a protagonist from Eiichiro Oda's pirate manga One Piece. In the series, Nami is a thief with superb navigational skills. Nami grew up as an orphan raised by a female marine named Bellemere who was later murdered by the pirate Arlong. In order to save her village, Nami joined Arlong's pirate crew and worked as his navigator and mapmaker. Early on in the One Piece manga she joins Luffy's Straw Hat Pirates instead.
The photo was taken at Petit Fancy 12, a cosplay event which took place in Taipei, Taiwan on April 24 and 25, 2010.
