posted on by Jennifer Sherman
Sunrise's puzzle adventure now airing in Japan, streaming on The Anime Network

The official website for Sunrise's Phi-Brain - Kami no Puzzle announced on Thursday that Megumi Nakajima (Macross Frontier, Kämpfer) will play a girl named Elena Himekawa in the television anime. The character is a 14-year-old idol and genius who creates new challenges for Kaito Daimon, the series' protagonist. Elena will debut in the school adventure story's tenth episode on December 4.

The anime follows Kaito, a puzzle-loving freshman at the private high school named "Root Academy." He is selected as a candidate for "Phi Brain" for his extraordinary mental skills. One day, he and his childhood friend Nonoha tackle the "unsolvable puzzle" hidden in the underground ruins near the school. They are guided by the mobile device given to Kaito by the student council president.

Phi-Brain - Kami no Puzzle began airing in Japan on October 2. Sentai Filmworks announced its license of the title on October 27, and The Anime Network is currently streaming the anime. A manga adaptation of Phi-Brain - Kami no Puzzle began serializing in Kadokawa Shoten's Newtype Ace magazine on Thursday.
