Dragon Quest Bar Celebrates 2nd Year with Erdrick Cookies, Cake

Tokyo's Luida's Bar to give away limited quantities January 28 - February 3

Luida's Bar in Tokyo's Roppongi district will offer visitors an "Erdrick's Crest Cookie" and "Sky Special Sweets" cake to celebrate its second anniversary. The real-life recreation of the drinking pub from the Dragon Quest role-playing game franchise opened in 2010, and a temporary branch appeared at an art exhibition dedicated to the series last year.

Inspired by the crest of Dragon Quest's legendary hero (named Loto in Japanese), the "Erdrick's Crest Cookie" is a sandwich cookie stuffed with strawberry cream. The "Sky Special Sweets" cake is honey toast with strawberry, orange, and fresh cream garnishes. Every individual guest will receive a cookie, but each group of visitors will receive only one cake with a limit of one per day. The bar will give away the cakes from January 28 to 30, and it will offer the cookies from January 28 to February 3.

Luida's Bar is part of the karaoke chain Pasela, and it sells a full food and drink menu of Dragon Quest-themed items including "Dragon's Right Arm Dry-Cured Ham" and "Great Dragon Red Hot Jerky."

Square Enix's Dragon Quest game franchise celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2011.
