Newly-renamed Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies 3DS game features new Athena Cykes character

CAPCOM's European branch posted a trailer on Monday to announce that the Ace Attorney 5 Nintendo 3DS game will be available in North America and Europe this fall. The game has been renamed to Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies for the English release. The announcement trailer features Phoenix Wright and his new partner, the 18-year-old Athena Cykes (named Kokone Kizuki in the Japanese version). The trailer also introduces the new Mood Matrix aspect of the game that allows the player to chart the witnesses' emotions.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies is set one year after the fourth main game, Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney. In the game, Phoenix and Athena will battle in court against the younger brother of Winston Payne, Gaspen Payne.

The game will ship on July 25 in Japan with a limited-edition version that includes a Phoenix Wright figure. CAPCOM will also be offering free DLC costumes from July 25 through August 15, which include Phoenix's suit from the first three games, Apollo's street clothes, and Kokone's high school uniform.

Brian Keltner, Public Relations Manager at CAPCOM, had previously confirmed in September that his company planned to release the game in the West.

Update: CAPCOM has confirmed that the game will be available only as a digital title.
