'The Theory of Gainax Animation' Exhibit from Tokyo Anime Fair Filmed

posted on by Karen Ressler
Exhibit discusses animation process from original idea to final product & merchandising

Otaku culture reporters Netageo filmed Gainax's "The Theory of Gainax Animation" exhibit at Tokyo Anime Fair 2013 and posted an English-subtitled video online. The exhibit featured life-size cut outs of people involved in the production of animation with speech bubbles to create dialogue. Stages of the exhibit corresponded with the stages of the creation of anime: from the formation of an idea to organizing of the production committee, planning, writing, drawing, CG, voice acting, the fan watching the product on TV, and the merchandise planning process.

Tokyo Anime Fair 2013 was held from March 21-24.
