Promo video introduces PS3 game's roster, streamed league tournament

This year's 31st issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is announcing on Monday that Namco Bandai Games' JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle PlayStation 3 video game is adding Dio Brando (from the original manga's Part 1) and Enrico Pucci (from Part 6) as bosses.

On Wednesday, Namco Bandai Games also began streaming a video to introduce the character roster thus far:

The video begins with Namco Bandai producer Noriaki Niino, "Jojo fan and entertainer" Kendō Kobayashi, and cosplaying CyberConnect2 director Hiroshi Matsuyama unveiling the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure All-Star Battle League. They will stream a tournament between all the major characters from Parts 1 to 8. The first selection round is this month, followed by the qualifyng league rounds in July and the final tournament in August. 26 participants were chosen via lottery.

The company already held a popularity contest for which characters will be exempted from the preliminary rounds but will be used for the finals, and after tallying 72,135 votes, the three characters chosen were Jonathan Joestar, Dio, and Jōsuke Higashikata. The tournament will be held on July 3, July 10, and July 17.

CyberConnect2 is developing the game for the PlayStation 3 console. The game will ship on August 29, and the first copies of the limited and regular editions will both include a Hayato Kawajiri memo pad and a download code for the Yoshikage Kira character. There will also be a limited-number "Gold Experience Box" sets containing a gold art plate with an etching of Giorno Giovanna and Gold Experience by Araki in an acrylic case, a figure of Jōtarō Kujo and Star Platinum (that can be displayed with an August prize figure of Dio), and a soundtrack CD.

The regular edition will cost 7,980 yen (about US$80), while the limited-edition "Gold Experience Box" will cost 16,980 yen (about US$170).
