The apps are intended for beginners, and each game includes a cooking mode as well as an adventure game mode that allows players to improve their cooking skills as they progress through the story and interact with its characters. The adventure game mode includes nine main chapters, as well as five extra chapters for each of the games' three characters.
Both games include 11 lessons, 24 downloadable content lessons, and over 40 mini-lessons, with more to be added in the future. The lessons cover recipes from simple omelettes and fried rice to more complex and elegant dishes. The lessons walk players through recipes from preparation to completion, and also include food and cooking trivia.
